Beta Test Program

Sign-up to beta test our new NEPI Software Container and get a free commercial license in return for your feedback

The NEPI Software Container is a ready-to-run environment for AI and automation development on NVIDIA Jetson platforms. It includes the full NEPI software environment: drivers, AI frameworks, automation tools, and the user interface, all packaged into a portable container that runs consistently across different devices. By providing a pre-configured environment within the container, setup is simplified, updates are streamlined, and deployment across different devices becomes more consistent and reliable.

Think of it like downloading an app from an app store: instead of manually installing each library and dependency, you get everything bundled together. Download to install, and NEPI is ready to run.

NEPI software has already been successfully applied in real-world projects across science, industry, defense, and education. The new NEPI Software Container delivers those same capabilities while making installation, testing, and deployment even easier.

If you’re new to NEPI Software, visit www.nepi.com to access resources including documentation, tutorials, and videos that explain how NEPI simplifies and accelerates AI and automation development.

We are currently inviting individuals and organizations to sign up to beta test the new NEPI Software Container. Those who sign up will receive the download link by email when the container is available (expected by the end of September). As you use it, you will also be helping us test the container itself by sharing your experience through a short survey. After submitting feedback, participants will receive a free commercial NEPI software license for one device/system.

This initiative gives you the opportunity to try NEPI in your own projects, with the container serving as the simpler method of installation. Teams have already used NEPI to accelerate AI and automation in areas such as robotics, sensing, monitoring, and inspection. The container delivers NEPI’s full capabilities with easier installation, testing, and deployment.

Who is Best Suited to Test

Anyone can participate, but those best positioned to benefit are teams or individuals working with AI, automation, robotics, or smart sensing projects that use an NVIDIA Jetson or other edge-compute hardware.

Purpose

The NEPI Software Container delivers the same NEPI software environment in a new, easier-to-install format. The purpose of this beta is to:

  • Test the container-based installation method.
  • Gather feedback on installation, setup, and user experience.
  • Ensure that deployment and updates are smooth across devices.
Process
  1. Sign Up – Fill out the form below on this page.
  2. Download Link – When the container is available you will receive the link to download via email (expected by the end of September).
  3. Install NEPI Use the downloaded container to install NEPI. The container simplifies setup, ensuring NEPI is ready to run without the complex configuration required in the past.
  4. Test and Explore Try out NEPI in any way that fits your work.
  5. Submit Feedback Provide feedback through a short online survey covering installation, setup, capabilities, and user experience of NEPI with the new container.
  6. License Granted – After feedback is submitted and reviewed, you will receive one free NEPI commercial software license for a single device/system.
Requirements
  • An NVIDIA Jetson platform with JetPack 5.0 or higher and at least 100 GB free storage
  • A GitHub account
  • Some basic Linux experience
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following is helpful but not required:
        • NVIDIA Jetson Products
        • Edge-AI software
        • Python programming
What You’ll Get
  • A free NEPI commercial software license after submitting feedback – normally valued at $1,000
  • Early access to the container before public release
  • Opportunities to interact with Numurus engineers and other testers through the NEPI community site
  • A chance to influence the future of NEPI with your input
  • Potential to have your project showcased as a NEPI case study
  • An opportunity to be a NEPI software contributor

NEPI has been applied across a wide range of AI and automation use cases, helping teams connect sensors, detect important events, and act automatically in the field. With the new container, installing NEPI is simpler than ever – once installed, here are some of the ways you can use it:

Common Uses
  • Connecting Hardware: Plug in supported sensors, cameras, lights, or robotic devices and see them automatically recognized through NEPI’s pre-built drivers.
  • Running AI Models: Deploy sample AI frameworks included with NEPI (such as object detection or tracking) without custom coding.
  • Automating Tasks: Use NEPI’s automation tools to create simple rules, such as triggering an alert when an object is detected or starting data collection when a sensor activates.
  • Exploring Interfaces: Try out the browser-based dashboard to configure devices, run applications, and view results in real time.
Common Application Areas
  • Automated Tracking – Ships, drones, or search-and-rescue targets using cameras, sonar, GPS/INS, and robotic systems.
  • Automated Monitoring – Safety compliance, environmental conditions, or fish farms with automated alerts, alarms, and data collection.
  • Automated Inspection – Infrastructure, welds, tanks, wind turbines, and subsea assets with cameras, lasers, ultrasound, and robotic platforms.
  • Automated Sensing – Real-time data collection and analysis from cameras, sonar, lights, and other edge sensors.

From small experiments to full-scale projects, NEPI supports a wide range of uses. The container makes installation simple, allowing you to begin exploring these capabilities immediately.
